No one knows what a day will bring, that is why I believe
life must be lived in the “now” and with urgency; to “redeem” our days. One
lesson I’ve learned is that when we write a book, compose a song or even call
or text someone to right a wrong, we should “just get it out there” and tweak
it later.
Back on March 8th, I was inspired to write
this song. I don’t have a melody yet and when I do the words may be revised a
bit. In following this lesson, for now I will publish it here for all to see
and hopefully it may bless all who read it.
BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL YOU
You lift my soul with the sunrise
when you make your mercies new,
You hear my voice and bless my choice
in the day’s work I choose to do.
I rise before dawn to seek your song
and your blessings when I pray,
You satisfy me as I rejoice
and then I gladly go my way.
Yes, I rise early to find you as who you are,
waking the beginning dawn
I know you are my bright and morning star,
which will light the path I’m on.
May your favor be upon me ‘til shadows fall and I see
your wonders through
Thanks for showing me
that all is beautiful;
beautiful, beautiful you.
Thank you for being beautiful
In all and all the wonders you do,
Before dawn starts its shining sun
to meet its morning dew.
And when my day, from work to play
becomes my evening too,
I’ll thank you for being beautiful;
beautiful, beautiful you.
There are more than seven wonders,
in this world you’ve given me,
With your hands you grant color
to even clouds and angry sea.
With your master’s touch there’s more
than one multicolored hue
Which paints my life a blessing,
when I ask for rainbows too.
Help me not to belittle your gift
and be little in the space,
Which you’ve given me to live in free
with talents according to your grace.
So when night’s stars and moon turn to sunrise soon
and I return your gift that’s due,
May you be pleased to have me rise again,
reborn and beautiful too.
Thank you for being beautiful
In all and all the wonders you do,
Before dawn starts its shining sun
to meet its morning dew.
And when my day, from work to play
becomes my evening too,
I’ll thank you for being beautiful;
beautiful, beautiful you.
